It is with great regret that we wish to inform all our partners, stakeholders and the general public that the 2nd Edition of the Ghana Music and Arts Awards (Italy 2020) has been duly postponed.
In light of the difficulties imposed by COVID-19 and the subsequent precautions taken by Governments of Countries all over the world in controlling the pandemic, the Board together with all its stakeholders and partners have taken the decision to postpone the Ghana Music and Arts Awards Europe 2020 (GMAAE 2020), which was scheduled to be held in Italy this year following its maiden edition held in Amsterdam, Netherlands in 2019.
The scheme which seeks to reward the hard work of Ghanaians within the Music and Arts industry, both in Ghana and in Europe, and also to bring Ghanaians all over in Europe and beyond under one roof to celebrate Ghanaian Music and Arts has been highly-anticipated entering this year 2020. However, protecting the health and safety of our potential nominees, performers, audience and guests from all over the world is our number one priority as organizers. Like many other schemes and events, we have had to make the tough decision to postpone this year’s celebration to a later date hopefully in the coming year.
We strongly believe the decision to postpone the GMAAE (Italy 2020) is in the best interest of all stakeholders. While we continue to monitor the current situation of this COVID-19 Pandemic all over the world, we urge each and everyone of you to continue adhering to the laid down precautions and safety measures and to stay safe and alive, and hopefully be a part of this event when the time is right.
All subsequent information will be communicated via our social media pages, the press and our Website.
Thank You
Frimpong Ebenezer Amoako
President – GMAAE
