Ashanti Gold SC head coach Thomas Duah supports the idea to cancel the 2019/20 league season because of the coronavirus pandemic.
All football leagues have been halted since mid-March as part of measures to help curb the spread of the disease.
Recently, the President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo extended the ban on sporting activities to July 31 however, the GFA has set June 30 as the date they decide the future of the league.
“I don’t see why we should continue with the league looking at the time left for us,” he told Oyerepa FM.
“You go to Belgium, Holland, and France they have all ended their leagues, they are more advanced than us but what did they do.
“Some are suggesting playing behind closed doors that I disagree because we can’t do without the supporters, that’s not us, it can’t work.”
Meanwhile, restrictions on non-contact sports have been eased, similar to religious and educational organizations.
The GFA proposed weekly testing of all players and also training in smaller groups but did not meet the expectation of the government.
The Premier League was at its match week 15 stage when it was halted with Aduana Stars leading the table with 28 points.
