Two people have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident at Apam junction on the Kasoa -Cape Coast highway.
The accident involved a Daewoo Matiz taxi with the registration number Gx 9436-19 which was moving from Mankesim towards Accra, while the other vehicle an articulator truck was coming from Accra to Takoradi.
The Apam District Police Commander DSP Moses Osakonor indicated that the taxi driver veered off from his lane and collided with the Articulator truck.
He added that after the collision, the taxi went to into a gutter leaving them trapped.
DSP Moses Osakonor noted that drivers have taken advantage of the absence of Police officers on the road and driving recklessly.
He also said both bodies have been sent to Apam Hospital morgue while the driver of the articulator has been arrested assisting in investigation.
