Former Asante Kotoko captain Joe Hendricks has fired a shot at Daniel Coleman, claiming the ex-Hearts of Oak defender was not at his level.
Hendricks, who represented the Porcupine Warriors for six years, had a similar playing style as his former Hearts of Oak counterpart as they were both rugged.
During an interview with Accra-based Onua FM, Hendricks was quizzed if Dan Coleman can be considered to be at his level.
The now 45-year-old did not mince words by claiming that Coleman did not do much in his career to be mentioned among the best defenders witnessed on the local scene.
“Daniel Coleman doesn’t have any certificate to counsel Ghana defenders but I have that certificate which makes me the best,” the former Obuasi Goldfields player said.
“I played the ABC Premier League and I tackled serious players like Joe Fameye, Osman Amadu etc.”
He said when he was playing in the league, Dan ‘Kofi Gari’ Coleman was playing in the lower division with Power FC so he cannot be compared to him, adding that he holds a degree in defending but Daniel Coleman does not have a certificate at all.
Hendricks was the skipper of Asante Kotoko when they lost the 2004 CAF Confederation Cup trophy to bitterest adversaries Hearts of Oak.
Coleman meanwhile played a key part in the Phobians victory.
