There seems to be a looming feud between celebrated Ghanaian rapper Edem and George Britton as the two have been caught firing shots at each other.
This comes on the back of some comments made by Britton which suggested that the Ghanaian music industry will collapse without the likes of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Shatta Wale.
According to the writer and entertainment critic, these three artists create a lot of buzz for the music industry which helps it grow.
But from all indications, the comments did not go down well with Edem as he took to Twitter to express his thoughts.
“George M. Britton sometimes u talk and I wonder if you really analyze before going on Pundit show..How can u say if three artistes leave an industry it would collapse…First of all creative industry thrive on money not talent..That’s why ppl without talent can blow with money..U claim y’all made 500k out of a signed contract but we no see nothing. What’ve shows u understand the space..If when the biggest financier left the business where most of the names u mentioned were signed it didn’t collapse,” he wrote on Twitter.
Not too long after Edem’s comments on Twitter, George Britton decided to launch fresh attacks on the musician labeling him as lazy.
“Interestingly, Edem who should know the color of TRUTH when spoken to has taken upon himself to attack me with regards to my statement made on Joyprime official TV last Tuesday, that in recent times @Sarkodie, @shattawalenima Wale and @Stonebwoyb are the most relevant artistes in Ghana and without these 3 the industry will not be vibrant.
It’s funny how Edem, one of the finest Rappers on the continent doesn’t know this accession, how engaging has Edem been as a brand/artiste to his followers or fans, how often does he give them anything to talk about? Truth be told, Edem has the potentials all these 3 S has but u know what? He sleeps too much.
Mr. Emotional Rapper, you should sit back and analyze your growth as an artiste n get back to work and stop displaying ur laziness in public. The media is ready to support any artist who wants to work,” He wrote on Social Media.Source: www.ghanaweb.com
