A few days ago, actress Lydia Forson suggested that local language should be used to educate the masses on the dangers of the coronavirus, and it looks like she is not the only one advocating for such a move.
Media personality, Anita Erskine, has also waded into conversations on educating the masses about the deadly coronavirus using local language.
In a Facebook post sighted by Ghanaweb, the media mogul advised government to roll out coronavirus awareness and education in local languages.
She advocated for the use of local television programs such GTV’s ‘showcase’ which was aired in various local dialects.
Thursday theatre, Osofo Dadzie, Obra Concert party, and many others in the past she said, were a good means of educating the audience and should be adopted to provide very important information on the coronavirus pandemic to augment government’s efforts.
She wrote, “To teach the masses about CORONAVIRUS – COVID – 19, what we need NOW PAAAA is: – Showcase in Dagbani, Ewe , Akan etc – Thursday Theatre – Osofu Dadzie – Obra – Concert Party Remember how daily life lessons were cleverly interwoven in the entertaining episodes?!!!!!! Anaaa?????
