2009 VGMA artiste of the year, Okyeame Kwame, has charged GHAMRO to claim fees from radio stations for the usage of songs on their shows.

The Made in Ghana brand ambassador said this on SVTV Africa when asked whether he takes royalties from GHAMRO as an artiste.

He added that, their focus as an organization, should not only be on Blank levies as a source of paying musicians but must however, take the right steps and register entities that are involved in the use of songs for their daily activities and tax them.

'’I intentionally don’t take royalties because I feel there are still loop holes in GHAMRO’s performance and until they do the right thing I am not going to take royalties from them.

‘’I want them to license radio stations, bars, bus terminals, banks and hotels and tax them for the songs they use for their daily activities’’. He said.
